New features for the desktop and cloud
In LibreOffice 5.3, the user interface has been refined to help you work faster and smarter. Colour palette management has been greatly improved, while it’s also easier to get help and fix problems with your profile. In addition, text layout and compatibility with other office software is better – and this is the first full source code release of LibreOffice online, to run the suite on your own private cloud infrastructure.
Make your documents shine
Writer now supports table styles, letting you apply formatting to a table which is preserved when you make edits to it. In addition, new drawing tools are available, while navigating your documents and making changes to page settings is now much quicker.
Master your spreadsheets
A new set of default cell styles has been included in Calc, along with a “median” function when creating pivot tables. In fresh installations, “Enable wildcards in formulas” is now the default option, rather than regular expressions, to improve compatibility with other spreadsheet software.
Power up your presentations
Impress includes two new beautiful presentation templates, while others have been improved as well. When you start the program, a template selector appears to get you off to a quick start – and it’s now even easier to work with slide properties in slide master mode.
LibreOffice is Free Software that would not be possible without The Document Foundation and its volunteer contributors. For this release we would particularly like to thank the developers listed for their tremendous work and effort inside our release notes. You can contribute to the LibreOffice and Document Liberation project as well
